啤酒节始创于1991年，由国家有关部委和青岛市人民政府共同主办，青岛市崂山区人民政府承办，是融旅游休闲、文化娱乐、经贸展示于一体的国家级大型节庆活动，每年八月中旬的第一个周六开幕，为期16天。啤酒节是国内规模最大的酒类狂欢活动，在国内外具有较广泛的知名度和影响力，被誉为亚洲最大的啤酒盛会。

    啤酒节以“青岛与世界干杯！”为主题，通过举办开幕式、啤酒品饮、嘉年华娱乐、艺术巡游、饮酒大赛、经贸展示、闭幕式晚会等活动，营造浓郁热烈的喜庆氛围。节日期间，青岛的大街小巷装饰一新，举城狂欢。占地近400亩、拥有40余项世界先进大型娱乐设施的啤酒城更是酒香四溢、激情荡漾。节日每年都吸引近50个世界知名啤酒品牌参节，也引来300多万海内外游客相聚狂欢。

    2006-2010年，啤酒节五度荣膺中国节庆产业年会“中国十大节庆活动”称号，并位列榜首。2008-2009年，啤酒节蝉联中华文化促进会组织评选的“节庆中华十佳奖”。2009年啤酒节荣获人民网“年度最受关注的十大节庆”称号，并位列榜首。2010年，在全国休闲标准化技术委员会、中国旅游协会休闲度假分会联合主办的颁奖典礼上，啤酒节荣获“休闲节会创新奖”和“休闲、旅游营销创新奖”；在商务部国际经贸研究院和中国会展经济研究院共同主办的首届中国会展业年会暨北京国际会展产业高峰论坛上，啤酒节获得“2010年度中国十佳节庆活动”荣誉。2011年5月，由人民网主办、中华节庆研究会协办的第二届中国节庆创新论坛暨2011中国品牌节会颁奖盛典活动在北京举行，青岛国际啤酒节荣获“2011年度中国十大品牌节庆”殊荣，并位列榜首。

    The Qingdao International Beer Festival started in 1991. It was jointly sponsored by National relevant departments andQingdaomunicipal government, organized by Qingdao Laoshan District Government. It is a large scale festival of national level with combination of tourism, relaxation, economy-trade exhibition, culture and entertainment. The Festival lasts for 16 days, opens on the first Saturday in mid-August of every year. The Beer Festival is the largest scale carnival activity in connection with wines inChina, has achieved wide popularity and influence both at home and abroad, and is hailed as the biggest beer pageant in Asia.

    The theme of the Qingdao Beer Festival is “Cheers with the World,Qingdao!” The joyous enthusiastic atmosphere is created by various activities such as opening ceremony, beer drinking, carnival entertainment,float parades, drinking competition, economy-trade exhibition and closing ceremony evening party. During the days of Festival, all streets and alleyways ofQingdaoare beautifully decorated, appearing happy air. The Beer City occupies an area of 26 hectare, equipped with more than 40 world-class jumbo amusement facilities, filled with beer fragrance and people’s excitement. The Beer Festival attracts about 50 world famous brand beer-makers and attracts over three million visitors both at home and abroad for gathering carnival activities.

    In the period of 2006 to 2010, the Qingdao International Beer Festival was listed as one ofChina’s “Top Ten Festival Activity” for five consecutive years and was placed at the first position of the list. In the years of 2008 and 2009, the Beer Festival won continuously “The Award of Ten Best China Festival” organized by “Chinese Culture Promotion Association”. In 2009, the Beer Festival won the honorable title of “The Annual Most-watched Ten Festival” hosted by People’s Net and was placed at the first place of the list. In 2010, on the award ceremony co-hosted by National Leisure Standardization Technical Committee and China Tourism Association Leisure Vacation Branch, the Beer Festival was awarded the “Prize of Leisure Festival Renovation” and the “Prize of Relaxation and Tourism Marketing Renovation”. On the first China MICE Industry Annual Meeting and Beijing Summit Forum on International MICE Industry co-hosted by International Economy-trade Institute of China Commerce Ministry and China MICE Economy Institute, the Qingdao International Beer Festival won the honorable title of “2010 China Annual Ten Best Festival”.The Second Forum on China Festival Renovation along with Grand Ceremony of 2011 China Brand Festival Prize-Presentation sponsored by People’s Net and co-sponsored by Chinese Festivals Institute was held in Beijing in May 2011. The Qingdao International Beer Festival had the honor to win the title of “China Top Ten Brand Festival in 2011” and was ranked at the first place.
